about emi

As a user experience designer, I am passionate about creating solutions that address real user needs and deliver impactful results. My goal is to design tools that simplify processes, improve user experiences, and create value for people in their everyday lives.

my path to design

My pathway into design started as a Computer Science major at UC San Diego, aspiring to become a software engineer. While I enjoyed the challenge of coding and solving technical problems, I found myself increasingly drawn to the creative and human-centered aspects of product development.

After two years, I realized my true passion lay in understanding people and designing intuitive experiences that meet their needs. This led me to switch my major to Cognitive Science with a specialization in Design and Interaction, while earning a minor in Computer Science. The combination of these disciplines gave me a competitive edge, helping me secure my first design internship later that fall.

This shift allowed me to explore the world of design and discover a deep passion for creating functional, elegant solutions. Many experiences later, I’m incredibly grateful to have made the switch. Designing experiences that reduce user stress while helping businesses achieve their goals feels truly impactful. I love the unique challenge of balancing user satisfaction with client needs—a dynamic puzzle that makes design so rewarding.

For me, design is the perfect fusion of aesthetics and human-centered thinking, crafting experiences that are both beautiful and meaningful.
